Compak Sporting

In 1991, FITASC adopted a new discipline: Compak® Sporting, proposed by its creator, Mr Jean François Palinkas, then Technical Director of FITASC. This new discipline consists of using the spirit of sporting trajectories on traditional shooting ranges (trap and skeet) with a streamlined organisation and controlled trajectory distances. This discipline, which has enjoyed tremendous success on five continents, enabled FITASC to organise European championships from 1995 onwards and, from 2004, world championships.

It was adopted by FITASC in 1960. The first international competition, the FITASC Grand Prix, was held in 1962 in Chantilly, France. The resounding success of this new discipline led to other Grand Prix events being organised every year between 1963 and 1970. Twenty-three European Championships were held between 1971 and 2005, and, from 1983 onwards, twenty-three World Championships.

Parcours de Chasse - Sporting

The development and success of Parcours de Chasse - Sporting quickly became significant. This discipline and its rules were adopted by the FITASC in 1967. From 1968 onwards, European championships were held with growing success each year, and world championships from 1979 onwards. Thus, until 2005, 27 world championships and 38 European championships were held under the auspices of the FITASC. The expansion of Parcours de Chasse - Sporting to countries in America, Africa, Asia and Oceania led FITASC to create other international competitions: Pan American, Pan African and Oceania championships, as well as international Grand Prix events.

Helices ZZ

A new discipline was born in 1960: shooting at electronic targets (Helices ZZ). It was in Belgium that Chevalier David de Lossy invented a hybrid formula between clay pigeon shooting and clay targets shooting (a plastic target is fixed to a plastic helice-shaped support). The decision to accept this new discipline at international level was taken by the FITASC in 1963; the first international Grand Prix was held in Monte Carlo. Subsequently, Grand Prix events were organised annually and, from 1966 onwards, European championships (37 until 2005); the first world championship took place in 1991 and four more followed from 1993 onwards. The World Championship is held every year. Ten World Cups have been organised.

Combined Game Shooting

Combined Game Shooting

Combined Game Shooting has existed within FITASC since its creation. In 1921, running deer shooting was already part of its programme. This discipline was then replaced by running boar and finally abandoned in 1947 by decision of its leaders. In 2003, national shooting federations, whether members of FITASC or not, expressed the wish that this activity be resumed on the basis of the concept of combined game shooting, thus opening up a bright sporting future for hunters and practitioners who use rifles. Thanks to Combined Game Shooting section, the natural link between hunters and sport shooters has been strengthened.

Trap 1

Trap 1

In 2015, FITASC adopted the rules for Trap 1, a discipline whose level of difficulty lies between Trap DTL/American Trap (ATA) and Fosse Universelle - UT (FU)/Olympic Trap (FO). Trap 1 uses a single multidirectional launcher, installed in a small covered excavation with a roof at ground level. The launcher can also be installed in a Fosse Universelle - UT or an Olympic Trap, allowing several disciplines to be practised on the same stand. The shooting stands are identical in size and spacing to those used for Fosse Universelle - UT and Olympic Trap. Shooters move successively from stand to stand, as in Fosse Universelle - UT and Olympic Trap.

Universal Skeet

In 2020, FITASC adopted the rules for a new discipline with fixed trajectories. The in line shooting system at Universal Skeet (as for Compak Sporting) allows a shooter to execute a series of 25 targets composed of 5 single targets, 5 double shots (the second target is launched when the first target is shot) and 5 simultaneous doubles in just 13 minutes.
